Information for professionals

Every child has their own file with their own Individual Education Plan. Every 6 months there is a meeting where the progress for the child is measured based on the objective scale e.g. with the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS-R) and the Verbal Behavior Map. A minimum of once a year is planned and required for the Individual Education Plan to be adjusted. Every month there is a multi-disciplinary team meeting. Besides a speech-therapist and a nurse there is also a children physiotherapist present. If necessary, a child psychologist and child psychiatrist will be consulted. Information of teachers and parents play a vital role in these monthly meetings. Based on these meetings, adjustments can be made to ensure the best plan possible custom-made for the child. All the agreed changes will be implemented immediately in the daily plan of the child. This allows us to react directly to any changes and a careful log keeps track of all the progress. If the child doesn’t react positively to care interventions it will be easy to intervene and to change/revert the daily planning schedule. This will enable to child to benefit with maximum results through the short lines that exist in the network around the child. The progress and speed are determined by the child. In other words, if the child adapts quickly more new implementations can be made accordingly. Scientific research proves that early intervention is the best solution for children; the earlier parents and school start the more benefits the child will have.
The ABA consultant functions as a coordinator and intermediary between the different disciplines with the interests of the child and its family central.
